Subject: [birders] Canvasback and bald eagle
I have had a lone female canvasback hanging out in my cove with a small flock of mallards the last couple of days. They all started suddenly swimming quickly in one direction, when I noticed a bald eagle chasing a belted kingfisher across the water; then, chasing other airborne birds. Safety in numbers.
