Also in the northern part of the Wolfhole Valley I also had 2 LONGSPURS sp. flying over with Horned Larks. Probably Chestnut-collared but only briefly heard and poorly seen in flight.

Our AZFO expedition to the Virgin River Valley and Mountains this weekend yielded a handful of notable firsts, including Fox Sparrow (Slate-colored) for the Virgin Mountains, Sandhill Cranes for northwestern AZ, Neotropic Cormorant for the Virgin River in Arizona, and Barn Owl for the Virgin River in Arizona in winter. Other highlights included Sage Thrashers, Sagebrush Sparrows, and Chukar.
