Subject: [slocobirding] White-throated Sparrow. Morro Bay
While not considered a rarity in winter in SLO county, the White-throated Sparrow is usually reported in small numbers in appropriate habitats. For the past 14 years one or two have been reported as winter visitors in our yard. They usually appear in October or November and often continuing until late winter or early spring. I had just about given up hope when one dropped into the yard this morning and headed immediately for the fountain. December 1. Hooray!

Nice to know that winter migrants are still moving around.
