- Comments: "We searched the area where Alex Castelein found a Sagebrush Sparrow the previous day, and sorted through multiple Bell’s Sparrows before finding one that stood out from all the others. Although this bird was not the same bird that Alex had photographed, it did
have conspicuous long dark steaks on its back, and a weaker, less contrasting malar (with some white streaks in it) compared to the thicker more solidly black malar of the well-marked nearby Bell’s Sparrows. This bird was studied through scopes, and photos of this bird are attached. Although we searched the surrounding area for another two hours, we found only Bell’s Sparrows."
