Hi all,
This year's Cuyama Winter Bird Survey will take place on January 25-26. As in previous iterations of the survey, teams will fan out across the valley and its environs in an attempt to improve our understanding of the status and distribution of this area's birds. You can see the trip report from last winter here <https://ebird.org/tripreport/192282>. We had 102 species in total - can we beat it this year?
Species we have a chance at finding include Brewer's Sparrow, Black-throated Sparrow, California Condor, Sagebrush Sparrow, Lewis's Woodpecker, Varied Thrush, Ferruginous Hawk, Vesper Sparrow, and much else.
If you're interested in participating, please email me (not the whole group) or message me on slack. Please indicate which day(s) you're available and if you have any preferred area to cover.
