Hi everyone,
Thanks to all for a very productive and enjoyable field trip to the northern San Jacinto Valley. We spent most of the day at the San Jacinto Wildlife Area hitting only a subset of the habitat out there. We then continued on to Bridge Street birding the Bridge Street fields and the southern edge of Mystic lake. Highlights include the continuing Bendire's Thrasher, a Gray Flycatcher and three Short-eared Owls (last seen in the area in 2021). We also had a four falcon day which is always a goal. Shorebird diversity was as expected along the Mystic Lake shoreline. And we again broke the 100 species mark, with 115 species observed for the combined trip. Special thanks to Julie Szabo for taking in the lead in compiling the trip list found here: https://ebird.org/tripreport/293791?view=species
Sincerely, Tony SBVAS
