I am searching for waterfowl. Black Scoter for Hamilton county would be nice!
Not much. As befits this unusual warm weather. Lesser Scaup, Ruddy Ducks,
And Gadwall at the Lake Barber area last night. They were actually on the Newtown
Gravel pits which is right next store. Lots of fisher people at Lake Barber. So I am
Assuming the waterfowl switched lakes because of that. Just mallards on Lake
Barber.
Today I hit lake Isabella early afternoon. Three Hooded Mergs. Then I explored for
Passerines. I had a couple nice flocks! Nothing out of the ordinary for me though.
No Purple Finches in with the House Finches and Goldfinches. Just 2 song
Sparrows! No other sparrows. 45 Cedar Waxwings was nice. Most numerous
Woodpecker was Downy.
The Little Miami River there looks very interesting for odes. Let’s see what
Happens in 2025 when I a not up exploring Warren and Clinton!
Good birding all. Enjoy this warm weather….. cold is coming!
