Subject: [CT Birds] Re: Rarity month
I have not seen it reported here, but those following the GroupMe groups know about the incursion of CAVE SWALLOWS into our state that began yesterday.

Numerous birds have been spotted at Lighthouse Point, Hammonasset Beach State Park and several other coastal locations around our state. Some of the birders who have seen the birds have gotten some great photos. Check the Rare Bird Alert on eBird and look for checklists with photos; some of them are excellent! https://ebird.org/alert/summary?sid=SN35614&sortBy=obsDt&o=desc

At least three of them were seen by me and many other birders this morning at Lighthouse Point. Due to the winds, many others are likely still around. Eyes to the skies!

But there have been rarities in other nearby states such as a Black-throated Gray Warbler and a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher in Massachusetts and Cave Swallows in New York State.
